Sorry for the same old, same old.

Looking to buy a 2 post car lift in the next week and have spent some time reading and reading and reading..........

I know that a lot of you have these fitted and therefor I am looking for recommendations.

Lift will be used for the tiv and other weekend work by my mechanic son, (he's not touching my car smile)

Height isn't an issue, must be single phase so just the best quality and reliability for up to about £1,500.00

Thanks in advance.

Thanks Martin, I'll have a browse.

There were a few threads in the last year or two, that's what I was hoping for!

If anyone has a recommended 2 post lift fitted, I'll be pleased to hear details.

Peter, I bought my 2 post lift, single phase from ebay of all places, brand new and fitting myself, from memory it cost £1300 including shipping, the seller was a nice guy to do business with.

Hi Clive, that's the sort of thing I'm after.

2 questions;

What do you think of it and who was the seller?

I think it was this fella,

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-POST-LIFT-CAR-VEHICLE-...

I say think as it was 5 years ago, but the quality is good, built in the states and sold over here, its good quality, obviously not in the same league as a professional set up in a garage, but for occasional diy use its fine.it took me about a day to set up and have working.

the motor lifts the car up, and when at the desired height the locking pins click into place when you press the lever to lower , when you want to then put the car back down you press the raise button to lift up about an inch, then pull a cable on each side to release the locking pins, press the lever and car lowers down against the hydraulics without the motor being used.
you have to be sure of the concrete you are bolting the posts down to, you`ll need a good 6" of depth for the 4 anchor bolts at the base of each post.

I've been looking at this for the future. Can anyone who has one comment on the minimum lift height? Listed as 110mm - 120mm depending on which lift you go for.

The tuscan has its ground clearance around 100mm but offshore at the moment so can't measure the clearance between ground and lift points.

Cheers

To get the Cerb on a 2 post ramp I had to drive on to a few bits of wood just to give me a extra 50mm or so to swing the arms under the out rigers.

I would defo go for a 2 post ramp if I had the space and height but the sissor lift has been great the last couple of years a tool for life.
