I'm sorting my new garage / workshop

So far I got
2.5m wide 1m deep racking
3Xtwin 5ft tube lights(thanks Geoff)
Painted the breeze block wall white
Got some surge protection multiplug extension (can't add more sockets or I invalidate my house warranty)

Flooring? Rubber mats? Paint? Carpet?

Music? Speaker amp set up? Or just a iPod Dock?

I got welder, compressor, pillar drill, bench grinder, and all the hand tools

Thinking of using a pegged tool board over tool box?

What you guys got/suggest/want?

Sound's like a man den to me. Maybe shadow each tool, if your thinking of hanging them up, as sometimes at first glance missing tools aren't seen, and could be left somewhere dangerous smile

I picked up that backboard and the plastic trays for nuffink, well worth it smile

A sink is invaluable, again free.

A few sheets of ply and some scrap 4x2" to knock up a simple bench.

Obviously, plenty of beer, wine and tonic water goes without saying biggrin

My refuge from the world - not visible are sink, workbench, stereo, heater and storage racks.

Vice! That's what I'm missing!

Shy suggestions I don't fancy spending £100 on a lump of iron

I'm currently building a garage to house the TVR smile have you got insulation in yours? Also de humidifiers are quiet cheap to leave running permanently, obviously effectiveness will depend on your garage

I don't have a de humidifier in mine, even when the heatings off it never gets damp.

It is also insulated, has double glazing and insulated roller shutter door biggrin

Just sorted music for my garage in readiness for pulling my engine out. I've always been a seperates man - amp, speakers, but got a Bose iPod doc for Christmas and it plays amazingly well.

A drum kit in the corner.

Sounds like a man haven.

Seal the windows and doors.

Big bin.

Tvr pics on the walls.

If its large enough a couple of cumfy seats preferably ex Tvr car seats for mates, Helpers, hangers on!

Great fun Alex, must feel good.

CCTV as well , get an IP camera setup from ebay, they are pretty cheap now.
I've got an old PC that i'm going to use for web browsing, (going through forum guides etc) so I don't mind if it gets oily etc. Much easier than having to wash/dry hands to use phone or tablet

The camera thing, good idea,
I watched a speeded up vid of a home build of a Caterham once, really good.

Security and an alarm, maybe a dog for love and encouragement, lol.

Reading these posts, bloody eck its not just me that wants a bespoke garage just for the Tvr!

I'm not mad then,,,,,,,,,,

It does not look anywhere as nice as that just now, I can just squeeze past the car, but the old cerb runs again might even get it off the ramp today first time in 14 months!
