I am (hopefully!) going to get my first TVR soon(ish), and I have a question about storage.

I live rurally, so not concerned about crime. I have a large drive and a fantastic shed for doing lots of man things in.

However, my cars are parked outside. I do have a large open ended (did have doors once, fell off) barn. It has a good roof but I am concerned about mice.

Would my car be at risk from mouses if parked in the barn? (Barn is empty, ie: no food stuffs but has general junk in there). Or should I park outside and buy a decent cover?

I have had cars attacked at previous properties, when parked outside, lost more than one HT lead to the little buggers.

Thanks.

Mice aren't particularly rain averse, so parking inside or out, they will get to the car in the end if they want to.

Park it under cover on the grounds that it is drier!

I live in the sticks as well and I keep mine in the drive under a cover during most of the year, except when it is off being worked on which is the other half of the year biggrin

Outside is fine, just get a good cover.

Alex to quote, its under cover except when its being worked on. More and more it suggests you will never drive it LOL

TBH - true, I don't really drive it much these days. I prefer the Evora to drive and the other cars I have now.

The T5 gearbox really pisses me off when I do use her and I just find it more frustrating than anything.
Even with the changes I did a couple of years ago on it, I just find it too clunky to use frequently (the gearbox that is).

Thus why I mostly use her as a project car and occasional driver.

When I get the T5 gearbox junked and replaced with something more modern, then I'll probably use her more.

Some people probably love the T5 and the way it works, I don't.

You were lucky if they only attacked the HT. My cars previous owner kept it in a barn and the little bds attacked the inside. I now have it stored in a garage with 2 ultrasonic mice deterrent devices plugged into the mains. I must say that since doing this (a good few years ago), I have seen evidence of them in the adjoining shed but not a sight of them in the garage. I hate the fkers!

I can understand what you are saying Alex it just seems such a shame to have something like the Sag and not use it.

How strange, perhaps your box is just knackered? I've never found anything about any TVR box to cause me to even remark upon in it. T5 in my Griffith is just fine. smile

T5 is a good box, not the fastest shift but not bad at all.

Yes T5 a trifle clunky but very positive. With some good breakfasts, gym work and press ups it's easy. wink My BMW stays out, Griff behind Horman electric doors, no gaps anywhere when closed, no mices. Those worried about the mices suggest some small trays of warfarin killer under chassis and outriggers. Mices and rattes love it, to death.

No, it's fine. I just hate how it works and how much effort it takes to shift gears. I like changes to be quick and easy. biggrin
