Hi, I'm new to piston heads and am not much good with computers but here goes... Does anyone know what the ignition lock for my car came from? I believe it's possibly a Triumph part.Any help gratefully received !!

Ideally you want to post this on the "TVR Classics" forum but yes, I believe the whole column assembly is Triumph TR6?

Does it look anything like this.... clicky ?

Hi Six shooter,

Welcome, as said you'll be better of on the classics forum

Most (most......) upper steering columns are Spitfire. However they come in 1300/1500 and early/late (just to complicate matters.........) in other words a picture of your set-up would help !

On my 3000M the lock is at knee-height, on my 3000S it is in the cowl at the wheel (which is for deffo late spitfire)

That is NOT that steering lock as it has a square central body and the TVR has a round central body (the square unit will not fit between the strengthening arm). That is a Lowe and Fletcher and you should be looking for a Waso version of the lock.

this one? Later Waso also looks to be "square"

Also available from Exactly TVR at a guess wink

Alternatively throw the whole lot away and put the switch somewhere you can actually reach it with a seat belt on getmecoat
