From a Griff 500 to a . . .
Discussion
. . . . BMW Alpina Roadster S Lux?!
One of those idle moments last night when I was contemplating, what, if anything could replace the Griff, should I ever decide to sell it. Which I will do at some point. If she's well behaved this Spring I can see me keeping her.
I've always wanted a true Alpina, and this one appears good value and pretty rare on the roads.
Alternatively, what Roadsters have TVR owners migrated to, or indeed, from which model to a TVR?

I have just acquired a Z4 3.0SI roadster, had an afla spider before that . fun little shopping trolleys but always hope I can keep my Tuscan S mk11 for the pomp and ceremony that every journey brings. Tried porkers and lotus various for test drives but nowt in my price range ever comes close.

Haha seriously? I thought Ferrari had sorted out their reliability issues. The kind of money that an F430 costs you would want it to start in the morning and get you where you are going!!
I delivered the 3rd rear bumper/valance/undertray for a 458 to the paint-shop sometime back in October. The previous 2 had mounting/riv-nuts in all the wrong places - shut lines crap etc.Believe me, they are still pretty chaotic in their assembly!

I went from my Cerbera into a Z4M Roadster & very quickly realised I had made a mistake & sold it within 5 months, I do think if I hadn't owned a TVR before it that it would have ticked many boxes as on paper it should offer many thrills but it didn't light my fire much.
Then I went into a E92 V8 M3 & that didn't impress me either so that went after 10 months & 10k miles...I have realised that there isn't any such thing as life after a TVR...I should have purchased another TVR that's where I went wrong.

thought I would join in, just sold my 500 griff and am now thinking I will play with some cheapish classics, i.e. Porsche 928,944, early 911, lotus elan turbo,or maybe a bit of Americana, but sadly I think none of them will come close to the griff,Open to more suggestions on what to look out for, quirky or classic, or if anyone has anything interesting they have for sale drop me a mail.

I came to the same conclusion when looking at alternatives to a Tamora last year - thought hard about the Z4M, but seemed quite heavy when driving - as you say, not a problem if you've never experienced a TVR before....Then I went into a E92 V8 M3 & that didn't impress me either so that went after 10 months & 10k miles...I have realised that there isn't any such thing as life after a TVR...I should have purchased another TVR that's where I went wrong.

When are you coming back to the Cerbera clan then Lee? The way TVR prices are going at the moment, you could easily justify it with man-maths. Appreciating asset to offset some of the maintenance etc etc... There's a couple of nice 4.5s around at the minute.
Cheers RobI happened to notice funnily enough today that there seems to be some good examples out there

I haven't really recovered from letting mine go to be honest & I agree I need to return to the fold as I have found that nothing else compares...I need to grind the mrs down a little (read a lot!) as she doesn't have much faith in them...much to my frustration!
It's Valentine's Day soon, play your cards right! I happened to notice funnily enough today that there seems to be some good examples out there
Tony Gilbert have a lovely blue one, headlights converted which is a shame but otherwise a very pretty looking car.robsco said:

I like your style Rob! I did see that one at Tony`s & I purchased my last one off him & he is a great guy to deal with, so I need to keep in the good books!!
My latest girl loves the Cerb. If you pop over to Burghley, she might be able to talk your lass round over a cuppa!
