When I had my Griffith resprayed a few years ago the velcro, which secures the hood just behind the door, was stuck down using Sikaflex. The velcro has now pulled away from the body and I need to re-stick it. What sort of adhesive have other owners used to stick down the velcro?

Thanks, Andrew.

I've found nothing really hold the velcro for long......

Having noticed that some of the latter cars had theirs rivitted, I got Bespoke Performance in Ware to reglue and rivit my velcro on a few years ago, and still as good as when then did it

As far as I can tell mine just has 1 rivet, plus the Sikaflex.

Yep most the ones I saw only had one rivit on the leading edge, some had one on the rear end as well....... I've got 4 along the length each side,

Got me curious so I just had a look at mine; it's never been touched/changed since new.
Two small rivets visible middle and front. Could easily be one hidden further back though, and I would expect it.
No idea what adhesive they used originally, but it worked well enough on mine.
It's never given any sign of coming away.

It's possible that mine has two rivets, I'll have to look more closely. Perhaps I should add a couple more rivets? Would they be normal pop-rivets painted black or are they a special black pop-rivet?

edited to add: I just looked on ebay and it seems that you can buy black pop rivets.
