I'm watching, Autotrader, PH, Ebay, Carandclassic, classiccarsforsale.

Anywhere else I should be looking for a low cost Chimaera?

Think you pretty much have it covered, only the TVRCC website and mag, but you would have to join the club to access.

OK, thanks everyone, I think I have it covered.

There's cash waiting for a low cost Chimaera.

I have spoken to 2 people, first we can;t quite get close enough on price, the other is deliberating on selling or not.

I fully expect a car needing work. Most likely chassis outriggers.

max £5000.

So why pay 5k for a car that needs outriggers....1.5k>2k buy a car that has had them done!
A 5k car is a 5k car and wont just need outriggers, the engine will be high mileage or knackered, the roof will be old and leaky.....you'll lose more mate. Ask any Tivver.

The problem isn't lack of Chims for sale it's what you are prepared to pay.

Do you care about engine size/power steering/AC?

You may squeeze a 4.0 for 5k but anything else I think you will need to do more than just outriggers.

All TVR prices have firmed up recently (especially over the last 6 months) and cheap TVRs are becoming a thing of the past.

My penneth, a 'low-cost' [cheap] car will be a 'high cost' further down the road. If it's a long term project then maybe, but otherwise?
Good luck though, and I applaud anyone buying one thumbup

Might want to try John, I think he is reaching a point of wanting to sell his Chim.

OP has already said in another thread that he's happy to fix knackard cams, tired interiors, buggered paintwork and shot chassis.......£5k should get him such a carsmile
