Tyre weight rating 94 to 93 TVR Griffith
Discussion
Hi I need to replace my rear tyres 245/45/16 toyo T1r but they are still T1r which is fine but the weight rating has dropped for my tyres to 94 from 93 so the weight rating across the axle has dropped from 1340kg to 1300kg now as the car does not even weight that and it is spread across all 4 wheels I can not see that 40 kg will make any difference but I just wanted to check with the great and the wise before spending my hard earned?
I don't want to change all 4 tyres either? So see this as my only option I think? Thanks in advance a griff nearing its tread blocks
The speed rating has remained the same at W, and the car is a tvr griffith 500
Cheers Alex

I am NOT an expert as per 99.9% of people here so always take advice from a good knowledgable tyre fitter ie not Kwak Fit!
However for me as long as you had both replacements across the same axle you won't have any problems with that weight as from memory the Griffs are about the same as a Tuscan?
I've been trying to source some Goodyear assymetric 91's for the front of my Tuscan recently without luck. It seems that the manufacturers assume performance tyres are only going to be fitted to bloated sports cars.

Griff weight is around 1060kg so cant see an issue. I've got some of these now as not doing enough mileage to wear the tyres out in 5 years and these are a good compromise between normal road and track tyres (ie still got some grip in the wet).

Only V rated but still up to 149mph and got written approval from the insurer.
