interior trimmer
Discussion
Afternoon Gents
Apologies to those who have seen pic's of my car in the Tam / 350 / Sag section but I thought the wider PH TVR massive might benefit from the knowledge that there is another good trimmer out there as an alternative to those already established.
This is not meant to be derogatory in any way to D&C, Dave the trimmer, etc (I've seen their work and it us indeed excellent) just that there is an another option, particularly for those of us in the NE. I took my car to a company called GGK Automotive in Sunderland and this is how it turned out...

Just to add, I'm not associated with them in any way and wont benefit from this post...blah, blah, small print, blah, blah...they are just a good bunch of guys who do a good job and might be able to help someone with their interior.

What was the price comparison to d and c for this work.
Alright TVRBoyDifficult to compare really...from memory I was quoted approx. £3600 + VAT from D&C for interior which I think is reasonable given their excellent work but I wasn't keen on driving from the NE to Blackpool and then having to travel back and then obviously repeat but in reverse for picking the car up.
Don't get me wrong - I'd travel for good work if it was the only / beat option but I thought I would look at other hopefully more local options and came across GGK Automotive. I called in a few times and checked out the work they were doing first hand and they know the usual TVR requirements such as having to remove the windscreen so I decided to give them a go.
I say difficult to compare as I've gone for Connelly leather and small amounts of carbon leather. There's also new speakers, carpets, TVR logo's and a few other bits such as the extra stitching. Lets just say there wasn't much change from £5K all in all.
Like I say, no intention to step on anyone's toes as it were just a heads up that in my opinion there's another alternative to consider (especially if your based in the NE) but each to their own and all that.
As with all of this type of work though best to discuss your requirements direct with who ever you have decided to use.

Is this place formerly Kish, if so I can also vouch for their work. It does look fantastic. It would be great to get a closer look at it, maybe at this.

Even if it is just so we can gawp at the fantastic work you have had carried out on your car.

Thanks for positive comments guys
Yes - GGK was formerly Kish...don't know why it changed but its Angus and his crew.
I've pencilled in the 'Brown ale run' (first I've heard of it...?) in my diary so will try and pop down (thro' the tunnel for me).
Just got some tubing to fill the gap around the back of the seats where the leather is glued / tucked in and some nice oval Tamora badges for the seat backs (same as Tuscans have) - hopefully get it all done at the weekend.
Who knows...I might even get to drive it if the bloody weather up here improves!

Don't want to rain on your parade, but isn't there a rubber seal missing between the leather and the plastic back panel? In your pic i can't seem to find it and a gap opens up best seen on the headrest-part of the driver seat.[EDIT] I'm referring to the seats only, sorry.

I've got some oval Tamora badges to stick on the seat backs too.
My original seats didn't have any seals? Wonder if there were any (2002 car) or they've disappeared over the years!

Maybe an earlier retrim of the seats? Mine were kind of loose when i bought the car. Just needed a good push into the gap and now they are in place again.

It would be great to meet you on the BAR and also cast an eye over your great looking Tamora.
Hopefully see you soon.
