My Chim 430 MOT is due in April and as my usuall place doesn't do MOT's anymore can anybody recommend somewhere in the Sherborne \ Yeovil part of the world? I would rather somebody who knows TVR's than a second hand car place.

A bit further afield, but JHD Automotive in Cullompton did some good work for me, and the owner (Richard) is a qualified MOT guy (though he does have other testers), with test station, and importantly is a highly experienced TVR mechanic from the days of official TVR garages.
He really loves working on our cars too.
Seriously, he really does biggrin

Appreciated.
It's nearer 150 for me smile
My nearest TVR garages are 30 and 40 miles away, and neither actually do the MOT on site. That said they both have their 'pet' MOT test station(s) so you can be assured that the tester has experience of the cars.

I have had mine MOTed 3-4(?) times by other test stations, and never had a problem though.

The benefit to JHD and TVRSSW is that being TVR people, they can give you specific advice about anything they see during the inspection.

I live not far away in North Cadbury and your best local TVR mot station is without a doubt the Wessex MOT Centre in East Lydford , phone 01963 240733. Tony and Graham are ex Haynes Motor Museum mechanics and understand TVRs various quirks. They don't do repairs so won't fail you to get work. For repairs TVRSSW is your friend. They probably can do MOTs but haven't tried them for that.

TVRSSW again,
surely 50 miles isnt too far for a top specialist....

They do MOTs too.
You WILL end up with a better car!

Thank you Mike but fernies dont do MOT anymore. I think TVRSSW is the one. With this weather 50 miles isn't an issue. smile

That must have been on a really 'slow day' as I know he's done it MUCH quicker than that

Worth going to Colin's just for a chat and a cup of coffee....... What he doesn't know about Tivs probably isn't worth knowing!!
