Hi All,

I'm trying to find a replacement gear lever boot/gaiter for a Borg Warner T5 gearbox. I suspect my Google search criteria is probably wrong because it's not really throwing up any good results.

To be clear, it's item #17 in this view:

Anyone got any ideas as to where to locate one?

Regards,
Olly

John Reid - Grantura Engineering / Redman Racing. Do a Google whack and you'll get his details

Alternatively try The Gearbox Man (Competition Transmission Services) http://gearboxman.co.uk/index.html in Markyate, Hertfordshire.

You do really mean the rubber gaiter on the gearbox? Some TVRs have another rubber gaiter which attaches to the tunnel cover, and that is hidden by the leather gaiter - if it is one of these you require it's a Ford part on the Griffith. Some details here .

Hi Andrew, long time....

Yep, the car is currently in a body off state and being built up following a chassis refurb. I've just put the engine back into the rolling chassis and noticed a split in the gaiter. The one under the leather part is stuck to the body for sure.

Try a breakers yard, I think the part originally came from a Transit or Sierra. It was certainly a UK Ford part.

A small universal CV boot works about as well as anything else. The real part in question is firmly in the "obsolete" section of Ford's catalogue.
