I have a great metalworker near me who will make me a pair of stiffer ARBs.

Question is, what type of steel is best?

Standard is 19mm dia iirc although TVR did produce some 25mm.

Alternatively, has anyone a 25 mm ARB sitting around their garage?

Okay, so where do I get the correct steel?

What do I ask for?

Talk to Nick at willow, he just made up some 25mm arbs and custom adjustable drop links front and rear for my car.

I need one too for my series one, I have all the measurements from another car, so maybe I should get him to make me one too. Do you have contact details?

Happy to deal with Nick for you, I know him quite well and live 3 miles from Willow. I can also collect them for anyone I know/see regularly (or who I don't, but who lives between Newark on Trent and the Cambridge/Essex area. I am up and down the A1/A14/M11regularly, as my work is in the Cambridge, Newmarket and Chelmsford areas, plus West Norfolk.)

Just re-read this.
We could go to Peter's friend (I feel a movie coming on) or to Nick. Would your friend be willing to make a batch, Peter, or should we approach Nick?

From a steel stockholders

Ask for EN45 , although "standard" mild steel bar would probably be fine unless you envisage some huge suspension deflections?

I've got a set of TVR Sports ARB 25mm front, 22mm rear going spare, including the rear mounting plates & brackets, if anybody is interested.

That's for a Griff or Chim of course. I'll probably be at the Griff Growl on Saturday if anybody wishes to meet there.

I seem to be sorted now, thanks Jonathan.

Out of interest, I found this tit bit yesterday from a specialist.

Apparently they make theirs from cold formed, high strength aircraft grade steel.

Obviously, TVR did the same rolleyes

EN45 would be about as much good as a chocolate fire guard
Well, you're the design engineer but that's not what I'd read, can you expand?
