So 4 years with the Tuscan (Mk2S) and yesterday it still managed to surprise me. I locked it as per normal and the alarm beeped 3 times. It has NEVER beeped before in all the time I owned it, so i checked in case the doors/boot weren't closed properly. Unlocked and re-locked it again and it beeped again.

WTF?

Does your car alarm beep when you lock it? Has anyone got a clue what this is about?

It should only beep if it detects a sensor that isn't making contact so door boot etc, that's how mine were anyway.

Thanks. So if that's the case is there anything I should check/clean/poke?

I opened the doors and boot and shut them all properly and it still beeped.

It is generally an indicator that one of the door connections isn't working. I can't remember right now, but the number of beeps might indicate which area has failed. Do you have a manual? If I get chance I'll look at the T350 manual to see if it sheds any more light - it may be bonnet even.

Sadly Tony, my car was one of the Mk2/3 wavy dash models so it has no manual. I have a convertible handbook but nothing that gives the alarm info sadly.

When my Tam was doing this the micro switch that raises/lowers the window on entry/exit had failed, even when the door was shut fully..
