Turns over well enough and pump pumping but clearly no spark.

It's definitely an electrical/alarm issue.

The dash pod is lobbing up lots of oil pressure, oil and water temp warnings and the window and door release lamps are disco dancing. The sort of faffing about it does when the battery lacks current but the battery readings seem fine.

I've tried locking and unlocking to see if the alarm is the issue and will reset.

But what I am now wondering is whether the cold of last night is the reason for the freak out? The car normally lives inside and it has never been out this time of year before and I'm away this weekend, it was outside and was sub zero or at least borderline.

Any thoughts on that line of thought?

Thanks. Tim.

Have you checked the king lead on the coil/ dizzy cap? Is it secure? Try removing the king lead from the coil and then turning over to see if there is a spark (you should also hear it). If there's no spark, it may be the ignition amp or a dodgy coil.

Thanks. The bonnet is a whole nose section and bolted down so no access.

It's definitely alarm related. The system seems to have soiled itself. What I am wondering is whether this was due to low temps overnight as all the temp sensors are freaking and remain freaking even when the car is closed and locked.

It's got all the T car electricals so hopefully someone else has come across this. I definitely recall having it before but can't recall if this car or the T350 but it resolved itself. This time I'm away from home so slightly annoying! biggrin

If you genuinely think it alarm related do you have access to disconnect the battery? Oh and when you reconnect dont leave your keys in the car like ive done previously.. The windows helpfully wnet up and the car locked itself laugh

We've all done that!!! It's worse when you've also left the keys to the other car in it as well. biggrin

Anyway, it turns out that Northerners aren't what they once were. They've gone all soft. An hour with a fan heater blowing into the engine bay and the old queen decided it would start.

There is definitely a gremlin in the works as I get 5 double beeps from the passenger footwell every so often when driving along and the central locking light has a mind of its own.

Glad she's started but doubt it would be the alarm/immobiliser playing up if you heard the fuel pump prime. Don't think I'm talking through my hat anyway wink

That's a good point. Thanks.

It's definitely electronic not electrical. I think it freaked because one of the temp sensors, or both, were reading negative. It was -3 that night and a fan heater for two hours into the bonnet fixed the issue.
