I'm looking at a T350C that's for sale at a non-TVR specialist dealer in Rep of Ireland. It's only done 5000 miles, and is a 2006 car, so one of the last. Was originally supplied by a UK dealer, kept in UK for a while and then exported...the guy thinks that the original owner emigrated and took it with him.
Thing is, it doesn't have any service history. Guy gave the usual 'It hasn't done the mileage for its first service yet' thing, and when I said they're supposed to have an annual inspection regardless, he shrugged and just said it is what it is. When I asked if I could speak to the previous owner, he said it was a probate sale.
A friend of mine who lives over there went to look at it, and it is pristine apparently...as you'd expect. No chips or marks inside or out. Starts first time, runs beautifully. And he said the fluids look good too an are all topped up. And that the engine warms up and stays at a good temperature when idling. No warning lights.
The price is about 15% lower than a similar car that's already in the UK with the history you'd expect. Now it might be that it does have some history in the UK before it was exported...that's my next task to find out.
Question is...assuming it's never been to the dealer, should I be really worried about the lack of history?
And, if I do buy it, is there anything I should do before I drive it home?, other than the usual checks? Obviously I'll get it in the Racing Green as soon as it's back here!!

First point from me is that, as a 2006 model, its engine parts are the later good components.
The main concern is that it as the car has hardly been used in the last 9 years then a lot seals etc may have dried out and so potential leaks etc.
Apart from that it sounds like its mint.
I suppose that you could price up getting a rebuild , slace cylingers etc just to take into account worse case.

Hi , if I was going for a car like that 1st thing do a hpi check makes sure not stolen recovered , number plate changes , and exporting etc , if that checks out ok and you are happy with the state of the car and think it is guenuine mileage , should be like new !! And you are planing to keep it for a while make an offer and do a deal ;-) but don't give them what the want for it ! Also if they are a dealer they should offer a 3 month minimum warranty ! If it's pravate sale knock em down , just mAke sure the chassis numbers have not been changed and the paperwork is guenuine ....
That's what I would do before being satisfied in buying the car ??

Totally agree with that, be absolutely certain that title to the car is beyond doubt before you purchase it, or you could lose the car as well as your money a little later down the line.That's what I would do before being satisfied in buying the car ??

I think by posting on here, you may have generated some competition from others interested, so there might not be much leeway in the asking price!
