I want CV boots - good ones
Discussion
Hi chaps.
I've only had my unipart CVs on 18 months and 2 of the CV boots are split already.
I can find Ford Sierra 2.0 CV Boots all over the place but I don't want to do this job every winter so I wondered if anyone had bought some CV boots recently and found them to be very good quality.
I've called RG who took over CleverTrevor parts because CT boots were highly recommended in previous posts, but can't get a sensible answer from them.

I use Bailcast boots as they are made of a neoprene compound as opposed to rubber which has a tendency to crack and split. Cheap enough and easily fitted with a cone to save dismantling the driveshafts. Never had one fail on me yet but no doubt a TVR will change that......

Thanks for the recommendation N7GTX
I bought all 4 because 1 on each drive shaft is already split so I can't imagine the others will be any better.
Pretty poor for a unipart part which has been on the car 18months and about 3k miles.
I hope these fair better because that little lot including govt thievery and delivery was £64

Now you know why Unipart went under? I bought all 4 because 1 on each drive shaft is already split so I can't imagine the others will be any better.

I bought the Bailcast DBC100 as per the link by N7GTX but when I went to fit them today they are the wrong size.
The size finder on the Bailcast website has TVR Griffith and tells me I want DBC400
But I've also seen a thread on here where someone said they fitted a different one - DBC800 - http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=964...
So I'm thoroughly confused
I've also been to Euro Car Parts this afternoon who pulled out 3 different boots for the Ford Sierra and all of them looked right but were too big at the big end.
Has anyone got a reference to a CV boot they have actually used and fitted snugly to the 64mm collar on the CV joint?
Desperate for your help now chaps....
And thoroughly forked off so I'm off to the garage to bash something.
