Renovo cleaning effect on Reviver colour?
Discussion
I got a split roof for the Griff last year and it fits a treat; only problem was it was blue rather than black. Recovering it would have left it looking different than the original back part of the roof so after consulting Renovo I cleaned the roof with their cleaner and then gave it 2/3 coats of the Reviver in black. I then waterproofed it with Fabsil.
The result was quite nice although the roof did seem to mark easily if leant against anything; this seems not to be an issue now (9mths later) but on the car the roof has had a slight blue tinge since it was done and now seems to have some bits which look slightly more blue than others. Not a disaster (I can live with it if necessary) as the colour was always going to be different from the fixed part of the roof but as I have some Reviver and cleaner left I was thinking about cleaning the roof again and giving it another coat of the colour Reviver to make it look better.
I have had a quick look at the forums and see that as the Reviver (isn't it said to be a dye?) is water based some of the colour will come off during cleaning. As I will need to do the full 'leave for an hour to work' clean to get the proofer off I wonder what effect on the colour it will have? If it takes a little colour off then it might be worth doing but if it takes a lot off I might finish up back near where I started so has anyone any relevant experience of cleaning a Revived roof and the effect on the colour?
(I have also posted something similar on the Detailing forum to see if there is any advice there)
Any thoughts appreciated!

Hi mate...I had a blue roof on my Wedge but i did the same as you and used Renovo black on it..Mine had a tinge until i had given it a few coats over a small period of time, I always let it dry for a few hours and don't use any waterproofing on it..(Not that it gets wet much).
It has got wet a few times but is still fine.
I use a stiff upholstery brush on it prior to colouring...This helps to remove any dirt. They can be bought from Halfords or online.
Hope this helps...Ziga
