Like most Yorkshire villages, ours has a summer gala. Every year the Gala Queen leads the parade riding in the back of a classic MG. Unfortunately the MG is likely to be off the road this summer, so the gala committee have asked if I'll volunteer my XFR to carry her. I am happy to, but suggested that there must be a more distinctive, better looking car to use.

Is there a TVR owner local to East Morton (BD20: Bingley / Keighley area) willing to volunteer an hour of their time on Sunday 12th July? They can't afford to pay you, but it's an opportunity to show off your car, and it's sure to get a lot of attention!

If you can help, please PM me.

Thanks

I am sure we can sort something out

At worst I will come in my Noisy 1990 TVR 400SE which is on my profile pic
(Unless you specifically want a later model - then I would have to ask around)

It is convertible and has a rear parcel shelf that can be sat on to arrive
I am only about 5 miles from East Morton

Thank you for all your help. I knew I could rely on TVR owners to offer to show off their cars! wink I got a couple of very quick responses via email, so we have a black Tuscan for the Gala Queen now smile

Richard, I mentioned approaching the TVRCC about joining the parade or mounting a display and the field is full this year but they might be interested next year. The organiser's husband is a petrolhead, and has produced some drawings of TVRs (he is a graphic designer) in the past. Somewhere I have a beautiful cut away drawing of a Griff he gave me. So I am sure if he has anything to do with it you might be getting an email next spring, if that would be OK?

Thanks again, everyone.

Is he called Miles by any chance - as I have some of his work adorning my office walls!!!!!

Let me know in the future and we will see what we can do

We do a variety of events in the year including this weekend the Candlelighter's Day at Sherburn Aero Club
where we take kids recovering from cancer etc and their families for a few rides and smiles on a 2km runway!!!!

All the best
Richard

Richard - it's the very same guy!

Sorry for the delayed reply - I've been away for a couple of weeks. I know the Candlelighters - I benefitted from their kindness many years ago, and so my mum and dad spent a good few years raising money for them.

Thanks again for the offer. I'll be sure to nag Kirstie about getting a TVR display next year. Although it's 11 years since family commitments saw my Chim have to go, I still dream about driving it!

The cutaway is of my Griff and is very nice indeed. If Miles or Kirstie ever want to make space donations of any of the original works would be greatly received.
