Which cover have you got? How well does it fit? Is it completely weather proof?

I went for this one - http://www.coveryourcar.co.uk/store/product.php?pr...

With the locking kit.. although I'm not 100% its waterproof when it gets drenched.. I think you either get a 'breathable' one thats still porous or a non-breathable one that is not porous..

I bought mine to keep the car hidden, clean and prevent any leakage and it seems to do that ok, although with long term use the car may need machine polishing

Hello - The wiki here is a good start - http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

I recently bought the Waterproof/Breathable Outdoor one from Specialised Car Covers (aka Car Covers UK) to use when working away from home and the car is not tucked up in the garage.

The reason I went for this one:

1. Reviews of the cover on here and other sites - very good. This is my 4th cover for a TVR over the years, and the best so far.
2. You can pick up a cover in other colours than the usual 'battleship' grey - I went for the green one.
3. They offer a 15% TVRCC discount if you ask very nicely!

Cheers.

Hi

I've had the heavy duty waterprrof + lightweight breathable. Both fine and up to the job, coupled with two fleece lined indoor.

Good quality covers and worth the price.

Cheers

Ah ok, I saw a TVR cruising through Bletchley the other day and put 2 and 2 together.

Nice car, I also like your air cooled stuff...

On second thoughts, just took the cover off the car today (was raining at the weekend and sunny all today and partly yesterday) and the footwells are drenched! I could swear they are worse than when theres no cover on! and its the "monsoon" cover I have frown Will be sending coveryourcar an email tomorrow. Can't fault the fit and all the rest, but not very weatherproof unless its dry weather!!

I use this one for my Sag and works well with no issues so far (I've owned it for a year).

http://www.coveryourcar.co.uk/store/product.php?pr...

I also have an old Tuscan cover which I put over the Sagaris cover when the rain is really bad. Works great.

Would also suggest you put something like Moisture Mate (old Bell product) into your car as well. Helps to absorb internal damp - useful over the up and coming winter months.

Hope this helps.

You see this kind of feed back is just brilliant because the monsoon was high on my list as a winter cover, but sounds like it would have been 150 quid wasted. I'll cross that one off !!! nono

Thanks Alex but does that mean the Stormforce cover is NOT completely waterproof on it's own? Oh and i'll be off to Halfords on the way home, that Moisture Mate sounds like a cracking idea, cheap too !!!

Just emailed them as I've checked my invoice and I actually went for the Stormforce cover which was £174 with the locking kit! I'm thinking I may have been sent the wrong cover as the stormforce one is said to be waterproof on the website.

Other wise the cover is a great fit and feels well put together so lets see what they say!

I'm not a technical expert on these by no means, but from what I understand you are best with a cover that is not completely impervious to water, but rather, that can breath to allow water moisture to escape. If you don't, then you will end up with permanent fun white marks on your paint. As such, the Stormforce cover is very good at repelling water, but some water will still get in due to contact with the car. So after a lot of rain and I take off the cover, there will be done wet on the car - thus the reason I use the two breathable covers when the heavens open.

That help?

Spoke to coveryourcar and they reccomend the monsoon cover for a totally waterproof solution as it has a PVC layer. They have offered to swap my stormforce for a monsoon so I will report back with the results.
