Central locking conundrum....
Discussion
My chim500 has again had its central locking fail second time.
Last year I replaced relay and both solenoids and all good. It worked fine until todays release from winter layup.
Not sure when exactly it failed but i did change 100 amp fuse today while doing a few maintenance jobs and again noticed both locks inoperative. Not sure if fuse was connected to locks failing as it does affect alarm when disconnecting fuse.
Alarm activating okay just not locking doors on the fob. Relay clicking when fob pressed okay and both lower door buttons operative
Anyone have suggestions or similar experiences?

Where did you get the solenoids you fitted last year? I found that the cheap ones ( from maplins) I fitted once lasted long enough I threw the receipt out and no longer. Fitted spal ones next time round, still working.( fingers crossed)Last year I replaced relay and both solenoids and all good. It worked fine until todays release from winter layup.

Have you tried the central button on the opening knob . That may prove the solenoids are working or not or just the fob/remote.
Good point - the central button doesn't operate either or door locks. Alarm sets okay & I can hear relay clicking. Its just the relay and solenoids were replaced 12 months ago. Apart from changing the 100amp fuse recently (which does disconnect the alarm) I fail to see how these can be faulty as they were OE supplied.Forums | General TVR Stuff & Gossip | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
