Kerbed Spiders
Discussion
Hello,
I went out for a drive this evening a whilst parked up someone pointed out to me one of my spiders was kerbed.
How, Where, When, I have no recollection.
My question now being, does anyone know who can refurb them using the correct paint. I already have 2 refurbed wheels and the paint is different from original.
I also would like the original TVR decal applied to the one spoke.
I'm based in Hertfordshire, although willing to travel I would still like to keep it Locallish.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Problem is that the wheels will fade after a while so if you already have two wheels with different colours you would be better off getting all four done plus you get a discount for all four
I have used Lepsons in Gillingham Kent, they ate very good and they are right opposite the station and they supply and fit the TVR logo
I have also used Smart repairs on the Isle of Sheppey they are good as well and a bit cheaper but a bit further do you to travel not far from Sheerness station

Look up/google for a branch of "The Wheel Specialist" in your area.
A few owners have used the local branch in Fareham, Hants, and have been very impressed with what they do and colour matching.
They are a franchise, so service aspect, I guess, comes down to enthusiasm of franchisee?
The decals are easily obtainable from RG/TVR car parts and maybe Racetech Direct.

My spider alloys were curbed with a couple of slight flat spots on one. I went to the wheel specialist in fareham for advice and a quote. They are probably one of the best companys for refurbs . They had a silver match very close to original wheel colour. They are not the cheapest by far,so for £200 more decided to buy a brand new set with new badged centre caps from TVR Parts. Very happy with OE spiders with tvr logo etched on them.
It costs around £450 to have wheels straightened and refurbed properly. They have to go through a lot of heat to true them up before powder coating or sprayed. There are alot of refinishers out there who will make your wheels look good for £200-£250. You pay your money, you take your chances. Personally i would just buy a new set for around £650, which is what i did and recoup the difference by selling your old set.
For future reference I can definitely recommend Autowiz in Welwyn Garden City. Done a few sets of wheels for me know and I know another TVR owner who got his S Series wheels done there. Great finish and value.
