Massive long shot but is anyone going down to the le man classic tomorrow that has an msd coil spare that they could chuck in the boot?!

Or similar spec for Large V8 may be ok?!

What's a MSD coil , excuse my ignorance. If it's the same as a standard coil for a rover v8 . I have a new one in my boot as a spare. Oh and I'm already at LeMans ish., about 30 mins away. PM me.

Hi, MSD is a higher spec Coil that works with a MSD ignition system. The company has advised that only an MSD coil should be used (maybe just covering themselves?) as using a non MSD could kill the control box.

It's actually for my brothers Cobra, but thought any large V8 car may either have the MSD system or a similar spec that would get us home. Broke down twice on way down and worried the coil has deteriorated and if it overheats again which seems to cause the issue then may eventually stop!

Will PM you to get contact details! Thanks!

Yes an MSD would be listed as a 'performance' coil but for the purpose of getting around Le Mans and home any coil will do the job.
