Sorry to post this in the general TVR section but all TVR owners may have a view.

I am running am Emerald K3 and currently have a 2008 model Zeitronix Wide band Lamdba
running the Bosch 4.2 sensor.

But need to replace this with something better.

From my research - the Innovate LC2 looks quite good as it can have the lambda sensor (Boosch 4.9) reset in free air (as can Techedge)
but Zeitronix still does not offer this.

Also Innovate have a pretty useful bit of kit called the DLG-1 which allows you to view on the guage
both banks of injectors AFR but it is a bit expensive.

Any opinions out there on what is good or best to avoid?

Thanks

I used 2 of the techedge 2J2 units in my setup to trim both banks of injectors with cam timming on a DTA S80.
They work very well and they required some time in free air to be set up first.

Don't know what price range you're looking in , but top of the line are ECM Pro and Motec PLM PRo.
In another price league though.
If you think the DLG1 is expensive don't look at what these cost.

I'd avoid Innovate if I where you, they control the heater of the sensor in a different way to everyone else.
Allthough faster this damages the sensor longterm.

Techedge is ok, but support is lacking, if you need it.

Don't have experience with Zeitronix.

Not having free air calibration is not necessarily a bad thing.

Another option are the 14point7 systems.

What's wrong with your Zeitronix that you're looking at a new kit?

I have an Innovate MTXL, which uses the 4.9 Bosch sensor on my Chimaera. I removed an Innovate LC1 from the car which had a faulty control unit. I do have a MegaSquirt ECU, which seems to offer compatibility for most Lambda sensors, and also a custom option to put in your own values to match any other sensors. Not sure about the Emerald though and what it supports, but would be surprised if you could not hook it up to an Innovate.

The main difference between the MTXL and the LC series is that the MTXL has a digital gauge which incorporates the controller, which means the controller is well away from the heat of the engine. The LC series does not have a gauge as standard and the controller will be close to the sensor in the engine bay, but a gauge can be added.

Use a 14.7 kit by all means but don't buy from there .. in fact you can't .. they're dissolved.

Thanks Guys.

Another mapper said pretty much the same - would recommend anyone but Innovate and was waiting for new stock of the 14point7 (3 weeks).

My issue with the Zeitronix was we tried to shorted the cable and c@cked it up.. and my older unit has no cables available from Zei.. in the USA.

So - I am shopping for a new unit but want something reliable and accurate.

Interesting that many state accuracy as 0.3% but Motec PLM is 1.5% but many professional mappers seem to use that as their main mapping tool.
