Wiring in new style Throttle Pot Sensor
Discussion
Quick question for the electricians out there;
The Loom wires to my throttle pot are all yellow (extended as plenum is revised) so the instructions for my new TP sensor are redundant and the new sensor wires are a different colours.
Can somebody confirm which colours on the new TP go to which colour on my old one please?
You should be ok as long as you keep the wire order the same on both pots- ie the wire position around the pot rim is what matters. The two outer wires will be each end of the variable resistor, and the middle wire will be the wiper. Where did you get the new pot from? Is it an alternate part made to fit or a Range Rover Pattern part or is not 14CUX?

Or an ACT one? I think the ACT one is a modified K series one from the MG- it might well work with an aftermaket ECU, but Ive not managed to get one of these pots to work on the 14CUX correctly- its harder than you think, as you need a voltage on the pot when the throttle is shut (to show its connected to the ECU) and it needs to sweep to about 4.6 or more volts wide open, and the MG one wont reach this as it has a wider arc than the 14CUX one. This means you may not get extra fuel when you floor the throttle- not that you might notice this little addition is missing much.

Good feedback Mark, thanks. Wouldn't want to do anything that impacts performance.
