Following various threads that have been on PH over the years, we've decided to have a go at the seats in the Griff. After 22 years, they're not exactly looking their best anymore and let down the interior somewhat.

I recall reading about buying a compressor rather than using the cans, something about a filler and a binding agent and various other stuff hehe

Added to which, whilst I've seen a lot of bloody impressive results initially - what are they like after 3 years of use? Anyone got any photos of before / after / 3 years later?

Would appreciate some pointers! smile

It only really works on leather. Even using their Crosslinker X stuff and adhesion promoter I haven't had great results on the vinyl areas of my Cerb seats and it's worn off in short order. It's stuck 100% to the leather areas though.

For best results, get The Furniture to do it properly, DIY kits are very good but the guys at Gateshead did the seats in my old Maserati and did a great job.

This was what they were like when I bought the car, cracked and badly bleached from nearly 50 years of Italian sun.

This is the same seats after filling, repainting and sealing. Huge improvement.

Once back in the car, they lasted very well, slight wear on the edges of the beading which was easily touched in, but otherwise I was really impressed with the results. For me, it allowed me to keep the original lovely thick leather and character without it looking tired and grubby. It won't last forever, especially on a heavily used car, but it's an excellent way to refresh a tired interior.

Useful, thanks gents. Handily, the car is full hide - so that's one fewer concern.
