Do they have enough fire extinguishers to put a fire out at Castle Coombe and still continue the meeting these days, progress.. smile

Fire extinguisher fluid. You can see him pull the fire handle as he comes to a stop.

Ta, thought that would just be in the engine bay.
Saved the car but I know from experience that powder from the extinguisher takes ages to clean off.

Not sure about roundy-roundy-racing requirements but for rallying we used to plumb for engine, fuel tank and habiticle. yes

Scary moment Perry. I hope the wiring is not too badly damaged. Just goes to show how ineffective the in car extinguishers can be - it didn't seem to make a lot of difference. I hope never have to pull my toggle!

Yep it was a toss up between get out of dodge or find a fire marshal post. you stand more chance with a fire marshal . Not as much damage as first thought always looks a right mess after the extinguishers have been used. not much work to be done in the engine bay and the main work is going to be at the back of the car but mainly cosmetic , it has wrecked the paint at the back of the car and I only just re sprayed the car over the winter .Still very glad I have a car to put right again, will be out at Silverstone end of the month fingers crossed.
