Hi All,

As per the title really! I've been with Classicline for a number of years, renewal is due today and Footman James have just quoted £88 cheaper (£352 plays £263) Has anyone had any experience of FJ regarding claims etc? To be fair I haven't had any claims experience with Classicline either!

All experience/opinions welcome asap!!

Ta! Rich

I'm with Classicline who are underwritten by Equity Red Star (ERS). Unfortunately they are the only company who would cover me with the modifications stated.
During Storm Doris early this year my car was damaged by falling masonry. Classicline did not help at all. ERS were absolutely useless and after 7 weeks my claim was no further forward. I cancelled the claim and repaired the damage myself.
Even after cancelling the claim they tried to load my renewal premium but Classicline sorted this. Do a search for customer feedback of ERS. You may be shocked by a lot of the comments.

In sharp contrast my van was written off just a few weeks before and the broker sorted me a hire van delivered from Manchester within 4 hours, an assessor by 10am the next day, a valuation I was very happy with and full payout took about 4 weeks. Some good and some not so.

I had heard good things from footman James so called them last month for a quote... mannings were £287.

Footman James were...... wait for it........ over £775....

The key to me is how these guys act in a claim, I've heard good things from mannings so when classic line came in £30 cheaper I still opted for mannings.

My renewel is £215 up from £195 last year with FJ.
My quote from Classicline was £425.
Not sure about claiming, I haven't in over 25 years.

Mannings for me. I had a very difficult claim and they were fantastic as were Amlin who were the actual insurers. Very much recommended.

Interesting my insurance is due for renewal this month. Currently with Classicline through ERS.

I was going to shop around, sounds as if Mannings and FJ should definitely be in the list.

I was with FJ when I swapped the V8S for a Tamora and they wouldn't continue cover. Do they do the later TVR's or just the classics?

Interesting, I am paying in the £400's with Cline.

Would be great if I can get under £200 with FJ.

Do you have breakdown and/or any track day cover with yours?

I've just checked, it is A very basic policy, Limited to 5000 per year and only additions are a named driver, legal and agreed value.
No breakdown as I have that elsewhere, and track days I can add as and when required.
I'm not one for doing track days anyway, but if I do I can add it.
It does also cover me for Sportingbears Dreamrides.

I still have others to call though, but as said before Cline came out at nearly double, but I don't need all the cover they provide.

With FJ you can tailor the policy, to add track days would be up to £125, which still works out cheaper.

Do Mannings do agreed value? (I know that both Classicline and Footman James both do)

Fj on my chim again this year. £138 with 5k per year and guaranteed £14k, which I think is quite good. No track days on there, and as someone already pointed out, these can cost quite a lot extra.

I was with Mannings but now with Classicline as Mannings went up to almost £500. Currently paid about 340 for the Tuscan, 5kmiles, and they agreed value at £52k.

Went with FJ this year, been with Mannings for years before and had a minor claim which mannings were good to deal with. This year FJ were around £70 cheaper but no track days. As I dont plan on doing any track days I went with FJ, if I was going to do track days then I would have gone with Mannings.
