As part of a service I gave the MAF sensor a spray with a MAF spray cleaner this evening on my Griffith 4.0. Fired the car up and the idle went to 2800rpm! I thought it might settle down after a couple of minutes but no luck. I disconnected the air trunking at the plenum and idle went right down to normal, albeit a bit lumpy. If I tried to reconnect the trunking the idle shot back up. Have I buggered up the MAF? Perhaps I should have let it dry longer, although it evaporated quickly.
Anyone else had this happen?

Ok, leaving the car overnight the MAF seems to have dried out and normal idle has been resumed. Case closed.....I hope.

Let that be a warning....leave the damn thing alone. They go wrong in their own time without messing with them.
