Just curious...what car did you drive before your TVR. And what other cars did you consider before you bought one.

'Performance' car wise as opposed to family luggers, it was Saab 900 Turbo, Supra Turbo and Ford Capri.

Subaru Impreza Turbo, W Reg.
Bought it from Holland at £5k less than UK Price.
Great car .... wish I had it as well as the Chimaera. Bought it for its practicality but the other half did not like driving it so I bought the impractical TVR which she does'nt drive either cos she can't reach the peddles.Had to buy her a Corsa but it is worth it.

I used to drive an Integra type R..red with 17" low profiles; beautiful recaro seats, momo steering wheel, fanatstic performance over 6,000 revs all the way thourgh to 9,000 revs. Did 65,000 miles in 2 years. Now woth cerbera 4.5 and a 2nd commuter car..a renault laguna 1.8 rt coming my way. Was going to get a Jag xj40 sovereign with 65,000 on the clock but everyone persuaded not to..so hence the renault (swapped from a little hyundai coupe 1.6..) as it was cheaper than getting a 40,000 mile service.

just had a letter saying if i want to get on list for Noble 12 GT0..then have to pay a refundable deposit...what to do..no more spare dosh.

Ummm, Ford Escort then Sierra then Mondeo. The latter being at least competent, unlike the former two. Then a Rover Coupe vvc, BMW 525i (gave that back, undisclosed accident damage), BMW 730i. Still got the latter, great for commuting, a real armchair on wheels. It's surprisingly game in the twisties too, at least if it's dry.

I didn't consider anything else before the Tiv, I just made the mistake of test driving one.

Nasty brown V-reg Polo 1.1
Silver T-reg Mk1 Golf 1.1
Red Y-reg Golf GTI Cab
White F-reg Golf GTI Cab
T-reg MX-5 Anniversary... which I'm stil driving, until the Tuscan arrives in March

Will probably get another Mk1 Golf (notice a trend? ) as my daily runabout when the Tuscan arrives, as don't want two 2-seaters, and can't afford to run them both.

OK, first off: LDO 585G Hillman Hunter 1725cc, followed YAW 20K, a 1971 MGB Roadster full of rust which I rebuilt then a 1974 Triumph Stag V8 in white, reg no. SOL 174M. No, after the MG and before the Stag for just two weeks it was a beige 1968 VW Beetle FGH 765F

Right, then it was all company cars, B reg Cavalier, then a C reg Cavalier then a new F reg Sierra Sapphire (the pits), then my pride and joy, a brand new Peugeot 205GTi 1.9 in silver (G222 JUB). Then a Y reg Fiesta when redundancy loomed. Then finding my feet again it was an E reg 205 like the silver one (E868 GNH), then a white one (J108 DFC)

Also had a Spitfire at this time. Concours weren't you WCT 144K!

Had a 306 Cabriolet M949HAV, now got as K reg Passat K858 XEW, a purple MGF (L111LDU) for the wife and the ol' Mustang OKE503F.

Oh and loads of motorbikes too

Phew!
