Spitfire re-spray cost?

Hi, Just bought my new toy, a '78 Spitfire 1500, in need of some TLC. Its been a long time since I've done a car up and I'm budgeting my costs. If any of you have had a re-spray on one of these cars how much did it cost? I'll be doing the body work myself but have no facilities to spray the car. Thanks in advance.

I did all the bodywork on mine myself, had the respray done in 2K paint and a very thick coat of it, cost me 1800 and thats a very simple respray with little or no prep work needing done.

Christ, I paid £300 for a perfectly acceptable job (with Me doing the prep work). Not concours but very good!

check round these days you wont get a full respray for anywhere near £300, one of my quotes was £5000!

I've been quoted between 2.5 and 3K for a full respray on the Vitesse.
