Assume this tyre can t be repaired?
Discussion
Oof, nasty. Is it a front or rear tyre?
That is right in the sidewall, I personally wouldn't want that on my car repaired or not.
A tyre place in my view will say no to repairing by themselves or a specialist.
I have been in a very similar situation with a screw like that just a little further in at the edge of the tread, same 1000 miles...
It is infuriating but it got replaced for IIRC around £220 as a 21" tyre.

It hasn t lost pressure. Just noticed the screw when getting in the car
Take it out and see what happens? I take it that tyre s on a 4x4 off some description, I d take it out and if nothing happens just leave it. But that s me, your risk appetite might be different. Inbox said:

gold dust there.
I doubt any tyre place will touch it, but equally, it does look like a very small screw. I've DIY'd such holes myself with a plug kit, although that one is a little further into the sidewall.
I'd take the screw out and see what happens, how long etc it is ? If it hasn't gone down at all, you might be really really lucky and it's a very short screw.
Or not.

Thanks all. It s our family car, so I guess best to bite the bullet than risking it. Gutted as they are £400 a corner, and this will be the seventh tyre on it this year! Think I ll get the tyre insurance this time
£400.00 Where are you getting your tyres from?
Have a look at camskill.co.uk
I’ll try taking it out and praying!
It’s a Discovery and I buy the tyres from Black Circles. Looks like Camskill don’t stock the ones we have on it - Pirelli Scorpion Zero All Season NCS - 285/40/22. We do use the car on mud and grass, and with trailers behind, find these to be pretty good in these conditions and not noisy on the motorway.
