Bought a Ford Capri a week ago, need a couple of tyres so called in to see my favourite tyre place today. Apart from all the internet in Oban has gone down apparently, she doubts whether tyres of that size are available any more.
Tried Halfords as well and same story there.
At one time 13" wheels/tyres were probably the most popular size, now I can't get a replacement short of maybe something Chinese.
(Can still get Toyo R888R apparently but I wouldn't risk them on a Capri, did provide sideways entertainment in the wet on a Caterham).

Black Circles has Vredestein Sprint Classics in that size which are quite a nice heritage looking tyre. Not cheap though!

Radar Dimax Classic 205/60 R13 at Blackcircles.com https://share.google/pkL1EL01zV1JhE8fP

Maybe play with the sizes on there, go a bit taller or wider?

Add the words rally tyres and you should get a few more hits.

Camskill are showing a Radar Dimax Classic in that size for £55.

No experience of them, and only know they're manufactured mostly in Asia and Serbia, and they're not particularly good in the wet.

Maybe something from TyreReviews list is still available?

Thanks for all the suggestions

Black Circles and My Tyres don't have any fitters up here, could get them delivered and get the local tyre fitter to do them, they're not always keen to fit tyres supplied but she has agreed if I get them.

Also tried Longstone and waiting for a reply from a couple of other suppliers.

Radar tyres?? Doesn't inspire confidence

Nankang: I know they do decent hillclimb tyre that fits Caterhams but the road ones are described as "City and Town" tyres.

The Vredsteins and the Dunlops (old Goodyear NCT pattern apparently) are a quality option at a price.

Torn between going for the Dunlops or going up to 15" wheels where tyres are plentiful cheaper too.

For better or worse, booked in for two Radar tyres at the weekend. Cheapies to get me out of a hole and then I'll start looking for some nice 7x15 wheels.
Thanks for all the advice.

Sounds like an excuse to do some big smokey burnouts when you get new wheels smile

I fitted a set of four Yokohama Advan HF Type-D A008S 205/60 R13 H to my 2.8 Injection Special. Bought through Black Circles.

No longer listed on the BC site, only Vreds and Radar. No BC fitters within 50 miles, there search radius doesn't go further than that.

I had a Capri 2.8i that the previous owner had fitted 4x Nankangs to. I turned my nose up at them, but they were actually pretty good and I certainly didn't have any uncomfortable situations with them.

It would appear Deamon Tweeks have them in stock

They're a rather good tyre, certainly good enough for when I drove it to Le Mans Classic in 2023

I've run Falken 205/60x HR13 for years on my Sunbeam and find then perfectly acceptable for road use with good grip and cope fine with over 200bhp. I'm in the same boat as those are no longer available so my only option was the Nankangs which I've got a set of in the garage but not tried yet. They don't look too bad and more of a road tyre than something like a Toyo R888 which I've also got on another set of wheels but they tramline all over the road are a bit too extreme.
The Nankangs are also HR speed rating so are suitable for performance cars like your Capri.
Most people change to 15" wheels where the choice is much greater so possibly if you could find a set of Capri Brooklands wheels that would be another option and suit your car appearance wise.
I run 13's and 15's on multiple sets of wheels so rotate my tyres and they last ages which should see me ok for many years to come.

Although a reality might be that looking for larger 14 or 15" might be a better option if you can find wheels that suit.
