vw golf GTI 2.0 LT mk 3 1997 abs problem
Discussion
thanks EDC for your swift reply. i should be more specific. got the car last week - 97 model with 45000 miles. despite fsh - the ABS light was on and rear discs and pads were shot. changed discs, pads and bearings.after market diagnostic tool showed nsf sensor to be down.couldn't get the wheel off (wrecked locking nut over torqued in the past)but managed to change the sensor. light goes out. on test drive ABS pump activates at very low speed.Do you think this is due to a dirty sensor? i must confess i thought this was a sensor problem - though i,m a bit concerned about the way the caliper pistons were depressed and whether the bleed valve was relaesed. failure to do this can damage the pump valves I,ve heard.your further advice is much appreciated. thanks .joe.
