List 1B tyres.........
Discussion
i currently sprint and hillclimb a small sports car, rear wheel drive front engined, weighing @750kg. Due to my particular class regs it has to run on List 1B tyres (semi slicks but road legal) rather than slicks, even though the car is built to MSA Modified Production spec (but with an MOT).
My problem is that i am currently using Avon ACB10s 7.0/22.0 x 15s and they handle great in terms of balance, but the forward traction is a little poor, ecspecially off the line. Its not all the tyres fault, the car is turbocharged so the power delivery isnt great. I intend to go to wider rears now.
My question is, has anyone used Kumho V70s in soft compound, Yoko A048R in med, or Yoko A032Rs back to back? If so what are you views for sprinting/hillclimbing?

Thanks for the reply.
I read that, but dont know how relevant it would be for use with a lightweight car and for sprinting. The Avons ive got would be great if i could do two or three laps, but i cant get the heat in them quick enough. Like all these things, reading articles etc isnt quite as good as info from someone whos actually used them. I would have thought some of the Westfield/Caterham boys would have the same problem tho
