SLK280 nonsport at 70K needs new suspension...its a stiff ride anyway...can anyone recommend a coilover or other combination that will help soak up bumps?...I don't track the car.

Change to non-run flats, that will help if they are still RFT.

Non-sports aren't renowned for being a harsh ride.

I can't imagine any coilover setup soaking up bumps better than an OEM type setup.

If it needs new suspension, best is likely to be OEM suspension.

What size wheels is it on? The standard wheels were 16", so if it isn't on those, then moving to them (with iirc 205/55/16 tyres front and 225/50/16 rear), might help a bit.

Or if you really wanted to get into it, you could do what mwstewart did on his CLK and put softer springs and US-market non-sport dampers on it: https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...
