Best tyres for 'Luxury' car

Its approaching new tyre time for my 2014 CLS 350d estate.
Have had M0 Bridgestone Potenza (awful, wouldn't use again), and currently running non M-rated Dunlop SportMaxx on the basis that Jaguar used them as OE. They've been fine, but I suspect one or more has become distorted slightly which makes a slight noise at speed. Possibly wear on the inside edge, which the geo seems to cause.
So, I'm looking for advice on some different tyres; ideally something smooth-riding for the ridiculous 35 profile if physically possible, and quiet. Its not a car I drive fast, so dry handling is not a priority.

My partner uses Continental Premium Contact 7s on her '97 XK8 Convertible. She has 18" alloys.
They seem to strike a very good balance between being soft, but still having good road holding and wet weather feel.
Alternatively, I run Michelin Pilot Sport 4S's on my '09 XK60, which are a bit stiffer, but still acceptable for a low profile tyre. Its riding on 20" alloys.

I found the same as you OP in regards to the OE fit Bridgestones on a long since departed CLS - terrible!
Swapped to Goodyear Eagle F1 and night/day difference.
I've also experienced Michelin PS4S & Conti Sport Contact on other cars and wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
Swapping some Dunlop Sport Maxx out for Michelin Cross Climates on an Jag XJ made a noticeable difference to the ride quality, also quieter on the motorway too.
Swapped to Goodyear Eagle F1 and night/day difference.

What was original Merc fitment ? 35 is pretty low though, just aim for something that isn't sporty or performance based.
I have just changed tyres on my 2014 E350 estate and after a series of ‘sport’ type tyres I have gone for a ‘touring’ tyre. Not many are available in the 35 series sizes but I did find Bridgestone Turanza 6.
They are so far removed from the Goodyear F1 Assy and the other tyres I have had previously.
Ride is much more plush, really takes the edges off large bumps and smoothes out minor road imperfection. The steering feels a little less sharp but overall a trade off I am more than happy with.
