Tyre repair

Never know where to post these questions.

Quick easy question, is this repairable or not, googling says yes, daughter told no. Just wondering as new one is £220, cheers

Is it repairable, absolutely it is. Will a reputable tyre place repair is another matter they would need to measure how close it is to the side wall as I believe there is legislation saying less than x distance it can’t be repaired.
Would back street garage do it, most likely, they did one for me, but if it is any type of performance car/tyre would you risk it.
It’s a personal choice.

Probably not at Kwik Fit, but that should be bread and butter for any local indy tyre place to sort.

Is it losing air?

MIght not be through the tread?

If it is too close to the sidewall for a plug repair, it can be repaired using vulcanisation. Whether its cost effective will depend how close you live to a tyre place that can do it (last time I looked it was only about £30 for the repair but they were 100 miles away )

Definitely should be repairable. I had the same sort of issue with a Pirelli run-flat and my regular independent tyre place repaired it. I got more than 10K miles more out of it.

Just be wary at the big chains as their business focus is on selling new tyres!

As others have said, border-line possibly too close to the edge depending on tyre size/distance from edge of tyre.

As also said above, if it is a small screw it might not actually be completely through the tyre.

If it were mine I would be unscrewing it to check & if it does go through then put it back & try your local tyre places.
