Have an old tvr with rear drums, after tightening up the wheel nuts the other day i found that the locking one spun. It is spinning both ways and will not come off.
Guessing that the stud which is Ford has spun on its splines into the hub.
Problem is its within the drum assembly so can't be got at.

Was using a torque wrench as well and not swinging on the end of it. New studs from ebay so could be made of chinese cheese.

Any ideas to get the thing off?

Could you heat it up to try and expand it a bit to get the thread to bite?

Sounds like you will have to remove the hub nut and pull the wheel and drum off together, then clamp the stud on the inside with mole grips or the like and remove the nut this way.

Unfortunatly the wheel center cap is removed inwards when off the car.

Good idea though if easily available could always destroy it.

Have managed to get a hacksaw blade behind the wheel. Spent about 1 1/2 hours this aft and think I've got halfway through. Will continue when my fingers are better.

Had this on the locost manged to get a croww bar in and held the back of the stud, then an impact driver on my compressor undid the nut OK without taking anything apart
