Do I need to bleed my brakes?

Hey guys, the brakes on a car i've just bought (2000 Corolla) stop the car absolutely fine, really well in fact. There isn't excessive pedal travel, they are really effective. However, once the car has stopped completely, I can then push the pedal all the way to the end of its travel. Is this something that bleeding would solve?

Does the pedal 'pump up' (ie. if you pump the pedal a few times in quick succession, does the amount of travel reduce?)

If it does, then you need to bleed the brakes.
