Not sure if this is a key mark or just someone brushing up against the car. I'm assuming the former which is a bit sad really, car is 3 months old unfortunately it seems you can't have anything nice anymore.

My question is will this require painting? It varies in depth as it sweeps down the door and rear quarter, some parts I can feel with my nail. I'm away at a site with work at the moment so don't have any polishes etc with me. Was looking to know if I need to start arranging bodyshop visits when I get home. Appreciate it is hard to judge with a photograph, not interested in 'minimising' it's a brand new car so want it back to perfect.

Sadly if you can feel the scratch with your nail it'll need paint to repair it. Anything less than that should polish off.

Get someone who knows what they're doing with a machine polisher to have a go
I should think you'll get at least a 90% improvement.

I could probably remove most of that to the point you'd not notice it.
Where are you?

Thanks for the responses, I guess looking at removing without paint first would be an option and see how it looks afterwards. Reluctant for it to go into a body shop given the age and then there's the issue of finding a decent one...

Appreciate the offer, I'm usually either in Suffolk or West Cumbria (quite a variation I know...)

That's quite a way out of the way for me :-) I am in Newbury
Any decent operator of a machine polisher should be able to remove that, so see if you have any friends or contacts.
Not an idiot mind...

No worries, it's not like I could pop over on my way home either! But thanks anyway, I'll look for some recommenced detailers... Know a couple of guys that have machine polishers but they're not massively experienced.
