New spray gun problems
Discussion
Is there any painters on here that could help me..ive done quite a bit of painting in the past and ive got a big job coming up so thought I would treat myself to a new gun, I bought a devilbiss pro lite with the t110 aircap and I cant for the life of me set it up.
Ive basecoated some test pieces and come to put the clear on and just cant get it right, its set to 28psi with trigger pulled fan fully open and 2 turns out with fluid and im getting huge amounts of overspray like the air pressure is set too high but if I reduce it I get no atomization and loads of orange peel. Im using lechler ms lacquer 2-1 and 10% thinners.
Sorry about long question but been trying for days to get it right now!!

According to Devilbiss that cap is meant for high solids and you're using a medium solid clear.
I usually have my adjustment fully open to allow maximum material....I'm not using the same setup as you though.
I think you'll just have to experiment with different settings, distance from panel, speed of pass and pressures until you come across the sweet spot
