Waxing a car... Can it be done without treatments?
Discussion
Hello All,
I’m new here and seeking a bit of advice for waxing my car. I clean my Tungsten Silver Golf using Autoglym Shampoo & Conditioner and sometimes the HD Shampoo they also do. I use a grit guarded bucket.
I wanted know if I can wax the car without using autoglym super resin polish first? Would this affect anything. I currently have the extra gloss protection which I apply but I notice people clay bar and polish before hand.
I enjoy cleaning but just don’t have time to clay bar and polish. I just want a good shine with some protection too. Can I get away with a expensive wax only?
I hope someone can advise on the matter

I'm assuming you get your AG products from Halfords in which case have a look at getting a clay mitt from them too. Using a mitt to clay your car only takes a little bit longer than washing it. Once you've washed you car wash it again but with the clay mitt & you'll notice the difference. You've then got a clean canvas for SRP & HD Wax.super resin is VERY mild , theres no real risk at all of wearing away the clear coat
how often depends on the use of the car , for most folk once every 6 months would keep it looking nice
also worth loking at a clay mit...cheap and easy to use , no wear to the paint and will make the results better

Wax wont make car shiny, polish will because it will reduce clearcoat scratches/swirls. SRP will hide defects but not for long, but with a wax you'll get a few more months of protection out of it.
I did a seal on my VW passat before winter, job was wash>clay>sealant (Lack nano)>Fusso 99
Probably better to learn about this from the peeps on detailingworld forums.
