What to do after unattended bird droppings destroyed paint?
Discussion
So my partner's paintwork has been destroyed as her work parking space is under a tree and she didn't keep up with cleaning bird droppings off. It didn't bother her so much but now that it's time to trade in it will be a problem.
It's a 2008 Mini, WeBuyAnyCar are offering £2400 for it based only on the make/model/mileage, so I assume they will drop that significantly when they actually see the paintwork in the flesh. I wouldn't sell it privately in the state it is in. Most likely we will look to trade it in at a garage.
We've had a quote of £700 to fix the paint. Is it worth doing or should we just cut our losses and trade it in as is? I assume a dealership would be equipped to fix it up before selling it on better than we are.
Example photo below, this is the worst area but there are small patches like this all over the bonnet and roof.
