Hi,

Please redirect me if its been asked elsewhere. I did a search but it was difficult to pin down what I wanted to know.

I have a 2002 EP3 type R which is going in for some paint rectification / tidy up (swirl marks and scratches, few chips) in the summer, to go with its shiny reconditioned wheels. It is used all year round in all weathers but only once or twice a week. Lives in a garage the rest of the time. Its black.

Up until know I've relied on the nice spit and Polish men but am aware of the criticisms of their techniques and harsh chemicals.

So I'd like recommendations, please, of products and methods to keep it looking smart that are suitable for someone who, to be honest, isn't really that keen on washing or polishing cars.

I realise it won't be as good as some of the amazing shines on here, but would like to keep it looking nice.

thanks

ninjag

£40 DA polisher from argos, medium cut hex logic pad and some G3 liquid compound (the yellow bottle). Perhaps £60 all in plus add a bottle of decent wax. Spend a few hours twice a year.

If you are a member of Costco they do a 36 pack of their own brand and very nice microfibre clothes at £15. Excellent value.

I've just bought a 5 pack of hex logic pads from Amazon. Not sure if they'll last and probably not as good as the Chemical Guys ones but at £10 for five compared to £10 for one Chemical Guys one why not take punt for the occasional use they'll get from!
