Unusual damage

Hi,

I noticed this dent/mark near the rear number plate area of my car, its only just back from a dealer doing some work on it, still awating to hear their response, but wondered if anyone had any idea as to what could of caused it ?

like a stretch mark where its hit something and almost all sprung back into leaving just that mark
