Car Paint query/bird damage
Discussion
Hi all,
I had a new PCH vehicle delivered earlier this week, and after 72 hours I ve noticed that something I thought was just a smudge that needed cleaning, seems to be bird-poo related damage to the paint
I can t be arsed trying to pin it on the dealer or BCA, as I ll probably lose and can t be arsed with the stress
The bird poo was probably left on the car while it was awaiting transportation, itseems to have removed the clearcoat along the drop down the door, how would I go about having this repaired/does anyone have any advice on trying to minimising the damage somewhat?

If its the line running down near the edge of the door, I'm not convinced thats bird poo?
Normally more of a splat i would say
I've got very similar to the OP and it is bird poo. I was on holiday and the car was parked facing away from me, so it was left on there all week in 35+ heat. Obviously washed it as soon as i saw it but the damage was done. Normally more of a splat i would say
Going to hit it with S20 Black when the weather cools down a bit
I’ve had really good results with Meguiar's Ultimate Compound.
Its a one stop cut and polish, recommended from the detailing section of PH.
For £12 it’s definitely worth a try and handy to have in you car detailing kit.

Reminded by this thread, I went and fixed mine. Couldn't get pics as i have black paint and all you could see was my ugly mug in the reflection.
I ended up using Farecla G3 Scratch Remover compound with a Farecla hand application. It removed it entirely.
However mine was like a stain that could only just be detected by touch, it looks as if the OPs might be actually eaten into the paint?

If it has removed the clear coat down to the colour coat then it's a door respray & as it's near the edge will likely need blending into the rear door as well. The bird poo was probably left on the car while it was awaiting transportation, itseems to have removed the clearcoat along the drop down the door, how would I go about having this repaired/does anyone have any advice on trying to minimising the damage somewhat?

Be an idea to have a chat with a local bodyshop for their views.
