Apologies up front, I'm sure it's been discussed a thousand times but I want to wash my car at home but have no desire to overthink it. I've got microfibre towels but looking for recommendations for stuff for a two bucket hand wash, mitts/sponges, shampoo, wheel cleaner. Will get hot water from tap and rinse with garden hose, no power washer etc. Thanks!

I wet the car with a bucket or two of water - but prefer showery weather to do that job. Then a bucket with Autoglym car shampoo. Put sponge in, place sponge on roof, squeeze and let the soapy water run over the panel. Repeat for bonnet and boot, and then the vertical panels. Avoid rubbing as much as possible. Then rinse off in same manner as before with plain water, (or preferably thee next shower, hard now) again no rubbing. The car shampoo is all i use, i never polish or wax the car.

Bilt Hamber make some of the best no nonsense products so have a look there, their shampoo and wheel cleaner are very good.
As for a wash mitt everyone has their favourites but pop along to halfords and have a look, no need to use a sponge these days.
If you fancied a trolley dash at halfords the Autoglym range is decent enough for someone who isnt too obsessed with it all.
