Bumper sprayed by Porsche Approved - what’s this defect?

Hi All

Porsche Approved Cayman purchase, GT Silver. Bumper sprayed by their respected bodyshop as part of prep, and my detailer spotted this when completing a full car detail and ceramic coat. Tricky area to get to. Hand polishing didn’t touch it.

Any thoughts welcomed. Needs polishing back, or missing lacquer? Trying to avoid returning as could be made worse, especially as it’s just been detailed!

i would suggest its some rough /not sanded primer

Very poor preparation, it will need to be redone.

Sub-par job, they've even painted GT silver on the plastic trim!

Take it back (clean) and hope they make a better job of it second time around.

Your detailer should then just need to buzz over the bumper and re-coat.

Looks like the basecoat went on a bit dry in that area.....the dots to the left look like fisheyes from silicon contamination

I have little faith in main dealers and approved centres. I used "Jaguar Approved" Mitchell Inglis in Glasgow for a front bumper repair on an XF and the quality was shocking. Overspray on both front quarter panels and other issues. Easy to attach this photo to see.

I would take that back though.

They really aren't any more special then most other used brands just higher end cars and higher prices tag's warrant a tiny bit more spend of prep
