We have a car that needs a decent valet / detail. However there are a few minor scuffs and dings to the paintwork that need sorting. Is this work best carried out before or after a detail? Also is it best to let the detailer do this remedial work?

There is a local company that offer the services of scuff & ding removal, at Clean Image (Chelmsford, CM2). They also do valeting, but I prefer to have someone do this on my drive rather than me travelling to them.

I was going to get CI above to repair, then get a mobile detailer. Thanks for any advice!

ps

Any reccommendations for decent detail guys that are good with minor blemishes?

Thanks!

If the scuffs/scratches can be felt by the finger nail they will need paint to totally remove, otherwise you're really only looking at reduction. The dings also aren't normally covered in the expertise of a detailer, rather needing a specialist. Both of these I would recommend having sorted before a detailer is booked.

As for who, there are a few who post on Detailing World based in Essex based, I'm also down there on a reg basis.

Thanks. I just got back from having the scuffs removed. Dings are booked in for next tuesday. Then I'll need the body cut back to remove swirls and waxed.
