So,

My insurance company has given me a choice of these companies to repair the damage done by someone running into the back of me.

Evans Halshaw (Ford Dealer & Accident Repair Centre)
Queens Park Garage
Burnley

Alton Cars (Looks like a purpose built repair shop from the website)
Crossgreen Approach
Leeds

Just wondered if people had used them and what their opinions on the work done was?

Cheers

GD

I'll stop you there.

You can choose your own repairer. They may well try to steer you towards their preferred options (can you say 'backhanders'?) but you are free to choose your own repairer and the insurer must meet all reasonable costs of the repair.

Don't be bullied. If the insurer suggests you don't have an option or that you somehow benefit from their limited choice of repairer, they're misleading you. From the front page of the VBRA website:

"KNOW YOUR RIGHTS

It's your car and your choice where to have it repaired. The OFT, Association of British Insurers and Financial Services Authority all agree - it's your right to choose who repairs your vehicle. Don't be bullied by your insurer with false claims of services or guarantees you "won't receive" if you go outside their networks.

Stand your ground - your chosen repairer will help you with this"

Apologies that this doesn't directly answer your question.

Tol

thanks for posting.

Unfortunately I cannot be without a car, I'm not going to hire one and other places I might use will either charge me for use or wont have one. I live in the middle of nowhere and public transport just isn't an option.

If anybody knows of a good Bodyshop who will provide a Courtesy Car as a matter of course with no charges incurred by me in the Halifax/Huddersfield area speak up smile
